This is Maddie. She’s the seventh 140 minute twitter portrait winner!
Step by step
Maddie’s fuzzy muzzle definitely lent itself to a speedy, 140 minute portrait. Here’s how her portrait moved along from stage to stage:
It took me a bit longer this month to carve out some “twitter portrait” painting time, so a big thank you to Maddie’s owner, Mitzi (@limoncello23), for being so patient. And and even bigger thank you to her for donating a portion of all the sales from her website this month to the ASPCA as a part of her “pay it forward” promise as a winner. And speaking of winners, October’s contest winner Bud is up next so stay tuned for his debut in paint.
The next contest…
The holidays keep me pretty busy so I am not sure when the next contest will be held. But I promise to tweet about it when I figure it out, so definitely follow me on twitter if you don’t already and I’ll keep you posted on the next chance to win.
And if you’d like a custom portrait of your own dog without having to win an entire contest, feel free to shoot me an email and we can chat.
Thanks as always for reading.

She’s gorgeous!!!!! How DO you do it?? I love seeing the step by step; but I still don’t know how you make a photo a painting–paint on a flat surface and give it such dimension? The portrait is wonderful!
Thanks Dianne…Bud’s next! I’ll be thanking you for your patience too… ; )
OMG! I’m shaking from excitement. The painting is absolutely beautiful. I even love all the stages… hahaha
It is amazing how you captured her little spirit and we can’t wait to receive it and hang it in a place of honor!!!!
Thank you so much Aimee (sorry no accent mark on my computer). Your work is truly a gift in itself…..
Mitzi and Terry (Maddie’s Parents)
Hi Mitzi – you are so welcome. I am so happy you like it. I’m shipping it tomorrow so pick out a spot on your wall! : )
My husband is already walking from wall to wall with the tape measure figuring out the best place. 😉
Awesome. ; )
OMG I LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!! SUCH personality!!!
I agree with Dianne, above–you’re so talented, Aimée. It’s so cool to see the step-by-step, but I still have no idea how you know which of the weird colors to use in the beginning!
Maddie looks so sweet. It’s neat seeing all the steps you took to capture her in paint.
This is so amazing! Incredible! You are so talented.
It’s incredible how the painting process works. It’s amazing how much color is put into the painting. This was a real treat!
I actually just saw Maddie’s picture in my G.W. Little dog facebook fanpage and was drawn to the picture. A few hours later I came on and saw your painting and automatially knew i had seen that dog and where I had seen her! Amazing work! I love the dark lines.
Your work amazes me. Every. Single. Time.
Lucky Maddie’s owner Mitzi and I love the pay it forward aspect of this 140 minute twitter portrait contest!
