Hot off the easel!
Fellow tweeps and all around awesome people stinkerpants and yorkey won last month’s free custom dog portrait give-away on twitter. I just finished Lulabelle’s new portrait and here she is…

Lulabelle, free twitter portrait winner #5
And Lulabelle’s portrait progression, step by step.

Lulabelle's portrait progession
I have to say these twitter “studies” are going better than I anticipated and I am really looking forward to incorporating more of this style into my commissioned work.
The next free custom dog portrait give-away will be held on July 14th, 2009! You’ll want to follow me on twitter and check out the contest entry rules. So start snapping photos of your pooch and best of luck!
Thanks for reading.

This is seriously the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen!! I am totally speechless!! I’m seriously in shock. AND I’m having a really hard time not using expletives!! I cannot believe how gorgeous this is, Aimee! Thank you SO, SO MUCH!!
The more I look at it, the more I love it. You are SO talented!! And the COLOR! OMG the color. It’s GORGEOUS!!!
I have to go get Yorkey from work to see this!!!
Sara – you are so welcome! I am glad you love it, because it’s yours!
Aimee… this is amazing! It looks just like her! You really conveyed that look she always has–that sweet, concerned look in her eyes along with the “what’s going on!?” radar positioning of her ears. I can’t wait to show her. Even though she’s color-blind and will probably be more interested in the packaging than the actual painting
I’m sure she’ll love it as much as we do!
Thank you so much!!! We’re so fortunate to have won!!!
Hi Yorkey – I am so happy you both like it! And lulabelle’s ears are what (in part) drew me to her photo, as you know. Will be in touch to get this shipped off to you! : )
I keep coming back to look at it. I love it so much. I am so excited!!!
This is a wonderful picture of my granddog. Do you think Sara and Yorkey will give it to me to hang above my fireplace. (I don’t think so) Wonderful work and really catches the essence of lulu. Thank you.
Thanks, Susan. Be careful, I think Sara might fight you for it if you try to “borrow” it! ; )
This painting is incredible. I am a Lulubelle fan (and occasionally get to board her in my home). You have captured her essence and unique beauty.
I am very impressed. You are an amazing artist. Thank you for the work you do to honor our noble companions.
Thanks Molly! It’s cool to hear from people who have actually met Lulu! One of these days I will too.
Wooow, Sara is a friend of mine, and while I don’t have a pet of my own, I am definitely doing to bookmark you for when I do. In the meantime, I’ll be passing your name on to my friends. This is gorgeous!
Thanks Kate! We arteests love word of mouth. : )
Wow, bravo again! Good job!
i love it.. this painting is amazing!
Another amazing painting!! I love the ears! You have such a wonderful talent- we are so lucky
Hey Julie! Thanks a lot. You’ll have to send me a pic of where you ended up hanging your painting!
I gotta say, i’m way excited by the twitter pictures. I actually really like your looser strokes that you do with your twitter paintings versus the commissioned ones.
